Goood article from Chris in the Guardian

Whatever the outcome tonight this competition has been great for BCFC and we are still in with a decent chance of promotion

Well done to all at the club :applause: and let's continue to enjoy the party :drink:

Birmingham must win Thursday's Europa League encounter at home to Maribor to stand a chance of progressing to the knockout stages.

A victory for Blues coupled with a win for Braga at Club Brugge would ensure that Chris Hughton's men progress.

Midfielders Jean Beausejour, who has had a two-game break, and Guirane N'Daw may start for City.

Birmingham beat Maribor 2-1 in Slovenia in September thanks to goals from Chris Burke and Wade Elliott.

"We are confident we can beat anyone at St Andrew's," left-back David Murphy told the Birmingham Mail.

"We are looking forward to it and we will do our job but we need the other result to go our way.

"I wouldn't say it would be a massive let-down if we didn't get through. I think we've had a good crack at Europe this year.

"We have been disappointed on certain occasions but we have played well in the competition. All we can do is win our game and see what the others do."

Other team news from Sky Sports News is that Jordon Mutch is expected to be added to the squad as well

Welcome back, JM :applause:

ESPN are showing Blues v Maribor and ESPN 2 are showing Brugges v Braga....here in Australia.

Good luck Blues, and whatever happens, proud of the way the club and the supporters have conducted themselves.

I've just had a look at the Online Ticketing service on the BCFC website and according to that there are 1457 tickets still for sale meaning we could potentially have about 28,000 attendance tonight.

I realise there must be some seats left unallocated to meet Europa rulings and Maribor probably haven't sold out, but what's the betting that we still end up with an official attendance of about 23,000 come the game tonight. I don't understand where they get these figures from...

Also, I hope the Blues fans are patient tonight because all the fans I've spoken to are expecting a comfortable win. Maribor didn't get to this stage for no reason, I'm still anticipating a tough game. If we win, I'll be delighted, even if the other game doesn't go our way. It's been a really enjoyable competition.

I'm backing us to win tonight, but I don't think we will go through as I can see Braga and Brugge playing out a draw.

Just got here and checked in to Birmingham Central Backpackers. My room is full of Maribor supporters! Think I'll stash my shirt and scarf in the car before I turn in tonight.

Now to the St Andrew's Tavern for s quiet beer followed swiftly by several noisy ones.

Come on Blues! :blues: :kro:

Maribor will have probably less than 100 fans so yes they probably haven't sold out  taking into account what you are saying then 23,000 would be about right so not really that confusing. **thumbup

Well considering they've opened extra blocks for Blues fans because they couldn't sell out and I've taken those blocks into account with the tickets for sale. Then you are suggesting UEFA take about 15% of the capacity off? Seems a bit extreme to me!

Is N'Daw going to be fit for tonight?

Yes

He's expected to be in the squad along with Beau and Jordon Mucth

He's remaining tight lipped about staying for the whole season......His loan expires January 5th and we have the option to keep him for the rest of the season

According to Tatts and Tom Ross the team is:

Blues: Doyle, Spector, Murphy, Davies, Pablo, Redmond, Gomis, Fahey, Beausejour, Rooney, Zigic.

Subs: Myhill, Caldwell, Burke, N'Daw, Mutch, Elliott, Wood.

Confirmed by the club as well.

King not even on the bench, carrying an injury?

Definately a weaker side, but hoping it's still strong enough to win.

Note to Spector and Doyle: Watch those back-passes lol

Me too

Chance to bask himself in glory tonight

The downside is if he plays an absolute blinder it will alert a few Prem clubs

many eyes are on us tonight

This is a MASSIVE chance for Rooney. Unreal.

If he wants to be given a chance in the league, today is the time to do it. I do rate him, and I am really looking forward and hoping that he pulls something out the bag today.

C'MON YOU BLUESSS!!

Spurs out!! They beat Shamrock Rovers 4-0 but Rubin Kazan got a draw so Spurs finished third and go out! Too good for the Europa league clearly!
